Meteorólogo. Precursor en Cuba de las investigaciones en ese campo, dedicó gran parte de su actividad científica a la Zoología, la Geografía y la Etnología. Como geógrafo elaboró en 1848 un Atlas con 28 mapas litografiados para las escuelas primarias que fue el primero de su tipo impreso en Cuba

Summary: It was designed and introduced in social practice a technology to produce and use protein honey, based on torula yeast cream as source of protein and intermediate honeys from sugar process, mainly B honey, as source of carbohydrates, with the required minerovitamin supplemment. It was developed a porcine feeding system based on protein honey, and it is introduced in eight companies of the country, either as only nutrient or substituting fodder, and there are obtained in commercial scale, indicators of live weight gain, (500 to 600 g/animal/day), alimentary conversion (4.5 to 5 kg food/ kg of weight increase), and reproductive indicators, similar to those of cereal consumer pigs. The production in 1989 was of 200 500 tm, and in 1990 there were produced around 300 000 tm of protein honey.
