Summary: It was obtained a technology for sugar cane's protein enrichment through the fermentation in solid state, with which it is obtained a new protein-energy nutrient, for ruminant and monogastric animals. It is used ground clean cane or return bagasse from the sugar tandem to obtain this product. Inclusion Saccharin levels of 50 to 70% have been used in ruminants' fodder, from the nutritional point of view, to produce milk and for the growth of veals and young bulls. There have been obtained positive results in pigs, in different categories with different fodder substitution levels: up to 20% for fattening period, 10% for pre-fattening period and 15% in pregnant sows. Some of these indexes can probably be increased in the future. Birds admit until 10% of substitution of fodder by Saccharina. 223 000 t of humid and dry types have been produced, and 1 600 000 t were produced in 1991.
