1996 | Load module for the automated system of structure analysis

Summary: Before starting the analysis of an engineering structure, and after defining its architectural configuration, it is required for its design to determine the diverse loads that "act on it, in order to determine the different applications (interior forces, displacements, etc.) to which the structure will be subjected during its useful life. This process can be simple in some occasions; but in general requires the handling of several calculation norms, since there are different types of loads, such as dead loads (dead or gravitary) and temporary load (alive or of use, windy and seismic ones, among others). Each of them has its corresponding complexity degree, and they have been studied in different measure and depth during the last ten years. If the experience gathered in the development of application software during more than 25 years, is added to the above-mentioned, there are created the suitable conditions for the conception of the Load Module. It can be clearly appreciated in this work how it has been possible to automate the whole calculation process, which constitutes a scientific novelty at national level, and can also be considered a scientific novelty at international level, since it has not been notified so far such a complete similar system in international bibliography.
