Summary: The decrease of fish captures since 1991 and the increase of imports to satisfy the demand for population's consumption has imposed the need of the quick development of Aquaculture, based on intensified cultivation. With the aim of minimizing diseases, there were developed researches and generalizations designed to establish a health integrated program, which results are aimed to establish actions for the epizoological control and surveillance in national Aquatic Sanity, and these include: 1. Establishment of restricted diseases (enzoological) and emergent (exotic) of main importance; also with the diagnosis of two new nosological entities responsable for high mortalities. 2. Development and generalization of both automated systems for the administration of data in aquatic sanity; SIB (System of Bibliographical Information) and REGIS (epizoological Register with information on 160 established diseases for marine and freshwater cultivations). 3. Elaboration and generalization of three Manuals of Operative Work Procedures in Aquatic Sanity: Ol Pisciculture, 02 Quarantine and 03 Shrimpculture, which, starting from the results of researches, establish the sanitary procedures to continue preventing diseases in cultivation systems. 4. Development and improvement of quick diagnosis systems for important microorganisms in aquatic sanity. 5. Preparation of a methodology to elaborate the annex to the plan of measures against catastrophes and serious epizoological diseases inside the National Program of the DC. 6. Formation of human resources in the diagnosis, prevention and control of the disease, and preparation of four Training Manuals.
