Summary: The researches carried out, allowed obtaining results that are scientifically new for the country and the region, since the White fly - Geminivirus problem in tomato became suddenly apparent in almost all the countries of the area. The works about white flies' taxonomy and Geminivirus' diagnosis allowed reporting new host species and plants, for which new methods were used. There were carried out bioecological studies on the White fly, and epidemic studies on the Geminivirus, which supported the handling methods. There were evaluated different chemical and biological alternatives, and there were used natural substances for their control; it was achieved the generalization, for the first time, of biopesticide with Verticillium lecanii and tabaquina. The obtained handling program was scientifically validated under production conditions, and it was achieved its generalization in the whole country, for which diverse procedures were used. The result generated several publications (three of them abroad) and two doctoral theses in agricultural sciences.
