

The work provides new results to knowledge, since:
It is possible to optimize formulations of odontologic and orthopedic products of wide use in modern medicine that are very expensive worldwide, which limits their use in the Third World countries.
In this work, there have been carried out some researches aimed at developing several biocompatible systems based on hydroxyapatite, using different biocompatibility systems (biostable, biodegradable) as monomeric matrix.
It is developed a new type of alpha-phosphate tricalcic cement of "double setting" with superior properties than conventional ones.
The work is included in 17 publications from 1996 to 1999: 5 accepted to be published in CENIC magazine and other 12 in Journal of Polymer Science (2), Polymer (2); J. Biomater. Sci. Polimer Edn (1); Magazines of Modern Plastics (2); Computational and Theoretical Polymer Science (1); Polimer International (1); Bone (1); CENIC Chemical Sciences Magazine (2). 2 of these articles were chosen the two best articles in CENIC Chemical magazine, and other two were chosen the best publications at center level in the corresponding years.
3 doctorate subjects are entailed and 4 master's degrees have been defended in this work.
