

Contribution to scientific knowledge by providing procedures that ease the analysis of proteins and effectively allow the identification of these biomolecules by mass spectrometry starting from separations carried out in polyacrylamide gels. With the combination of several technological elements, it is allowed establishing a protocol of protein digestion of high efficiency, being achieved the analysis of separate proteins according to the principle of molecular mass under a second principle, the isoelectric focalization.
This work is endorsed by publications in Electroforesis magazine, which has a major impact, and by a chapter from an important book about proteomic published by Springer in 1999.
Proteomic is a very recent science; for this reason, these results take us to an important place in the international environment and constitute an aspect to highlight in the basis of this achievement.
