It represents a novel and important contribution with an economic impact, it is taken into account the perspective of using this technique as massive vegetative propagation method by means of bioreactors, which leads in practice to the automation of the process and the subsequent reduction in vitroplants production costs, while considerably increasing the current production capacities.
Its scientific novelty is given since it reports results not previously described in literature, highlighting the development of methodological and technological basis for the establishment of in vitro propagation systems based on banana trees genotypes regeneration via somatic embryogenesis constitutes the most important point of this result, as well as a valuable tool to be used in the establishment of genetic transformation techniques which allow developing the genetic improvement programs in this species, seeking new genotypes of greater yields and more resistant tomplague and deseases.
On one hand, it has recieved the acknowledgment of different specialist of this research area such as Dr. Jean - Vincent Escalant (PROMUSA Coordinator ), Ing. Jorge A. Sauna Agular (CORBANA General Manager) y Dr. Franѧois CÑ´te (CATIE Biotecnology Laboratory Head) among others. On the other hand, these results have been discussed in numerous national and international events and published in journals with great international impact like Plant Cell Tissue and Organ Culture, INFOMUSA, CORBANA and Biotecnología Vegetal (Vegetable Biotechnology), what supports their novelty and the scientific rigor with which they were obtained. The authors group of this scientific research result was awarded with the condition of OUTSTANDING AT PROVINCIAL LEVEL in the quinquenal 1991-1996 by the Provincial Assembly and the Delegation of the Ministry of Science Technology and Environment in Villa Clara, according to Resolution Number 63/90 of the President to opt for Scientific Degree of Doctor in Agricultural Sciences (2001).
