Summary:

The assessed research goes through a wide road on the search of alternative answers that allow preventing and mitigating the negative effects of global changes in the human habitat and in the use of soil for Cuban particular case, for this reason it is inserted in a topic of great interest and national and international present time.

The work is characterized by the high scientific rigor, the magnitude of the used information, and it is available to organisms and institutions related with this subject; and above all, it achieves an integration level with the multiplicity of dissimilar elements that are implied, establishing the environment evolution and adaptation proposals to the global changes that are expected.

Its theoretical foundation is based on the scientific thought about the global changes, and it uses correctly international references. It provides, in 6 chapters, valuable knowledge on the use and management of earth resource, population, coastal areas, urbanizations and the role of planning instruments and territorial organization management, as activity that can design the necessary adaptation to survive this changes, achieving the connection of the scenarios of possible climatic changes for the country with each one of those aspects.

It is exposed the evolution of earth use and tenure through more than 500 years of transformation, carrying out an important assessment of the state of agricultural soils and municipalities' fragility, the demographic process and the identification of municipalities where population is more vulnerable, the current problem of Cuban costs and their weakness to the rise of sea level, the modifications of climate by the changes of urban structures and the synthesis of each aspect related to Territorial Classification, as a way of implementing rational adaptation processes of territories facing the predicted effects.
