Summary:

The reference work reflects the work of more than 30 years in the field of Systematics of aquatic microcrustaceans (mainly from the sea). The scientific novelty of this result lies in the considerable contribution that it makes in this field of studies, when presenting new 7 genuses and 99 species for science, from six different groups coming from the Atlantic and peaceful costs of eight countries (Cuba, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, United States, Mozambique and Indonesia), besides increasing the fauna's inventory of these countries in more than 350 species, which contributes decisively to know the geographical distribution of the groups that have been studied.

There are described, among the non-decapodous crustaceans, a new genus, a new copepod and another ostracod species; 5 new genuses, 63 new species and a combination of new amphipods; a new genus and 6 species of isopods; a new genus and 6 new species of mysidacea and among the decapods crustaceans, 3 new species are described.

This wide work is presented in 133 publications and 15 press works, in specialized magazines of Cuba, Rumania, Mexico, United States, Venezuela and Puerto Rico from 1974 up date. This work is endorsed by opinions of the Scientific Council of the University of Havana (UH) , of the Scientific Council of the Center of Marine Research of Dr. Darío Guitart and other Cuban scientists, and by professors and researchers from Spain and Rumania. This work reflects a work dedicated to scientific work, with unquestionable valuable results, with a direct impact on national and international biodiversity knowledge.
