The NDRS programs' system substitutes with a personal computer the complex and expensive electronic equipment for the registration and processing of deep cerebral electric activity, as a guide of functional stereotactic neurosurgery; providing also bigger representation possibilities of information in a graphic way, its automatic management and enough flexibility to implement different analysis.
Its new 5.1 version incorporates automatic possibilities of graphic representation in 3 dimensions or in a simultaneous way on three orthogonal planes; in both cases with the corresponding sagittal, coronal and axial sights of a cerebral anatomical atlas, automatically determined through the point to point system. It also allows planning new itineraries and therapeutic lesions spacely in the case of ablative surgery. This program can be configured by its own users in each moment to work with different stereotactic marks: Leksell-G, CRW, Estereoflex, Micromar, or without mark.
The NDRS system has already been successfully used in Cuba and Spain in more than 300 functional neurosurgeries to control different symptoms of Parkinson disease and other movement dysfunctions. The system has been registered at the National Control Center for Medical Teams and with the CE Mark from the European Economic Community, and it is being marketed with the rest of the technological Cuban package for stereotactic neurosurgery. Its works have been published in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery magazines (two works), Neurology and Movement Disorders Magazine.
