2001 | "A new theory for estimating the properties of mixtures and pure composites. Theory of the contribution of group interactions, (GIC)".
Main author: Eladio Pardillo Fontdevilla.
Summary:

The work represents a contribution to the scientific knowledge in the field of estimation of physical and physical-chemical properties of chemical composites, a very important aspect for the simulation and process analysis and even more for the molecular design works as a way for the obtention of new and advanced medicines and products for agriculture.

In this work, an important modification to the estimation methods is presented through Contributions of Functional Groups in considering not only the groups themselves, but also the interactions or links existing among them as the element causing the differences among the properties of isomeric composites or composites with a similar structure.

The results achieved have allowed to verify that the GIC method makes possible to reduce the error in the estimation of at least 8 physical and chemical-physical properties of chemical composites in more than the half of the 200-500 different products analyzed .

The proposed result is recommended by 6 publications in first level reviews, an internationally acknowledged book on the subject edited in the United States, as well as by the presentation at 14 national and international events.

This new methodology has been expressed through several computing programs, which have been introduced and applied by different institutions and research centers in Cuba and abroad. We consider that the work, taking into account it scientific novelty in the field of estimation of chemical and physical properties of chemical composites for the simulation of processes and for molecular design and also because it has the convenient number of publications in first level reviews, fulfill the necessary conditions to be awarded the National Prize of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba (ACC).
