

The result of this investigation is in a book published by the Social Sciences Publishing House, in 2001. It is made an incursion into humanist ideal, and goes deeper into the topic from the point of view of Latin American thought.
The work contains two chapters that integrate and systematize the topic which is object of study, which synthesizes the result from the scientific work of this researcher and university professor, carried out for several years. In the first one, "Theoretical and Methodological Problems for the study of philosophical ideas in Latin America", there are presented the aspects of rigor and the support bases of this study, where the categories of authenticity and identity, as well as other concepts are accurately introduced. Criteria for a pertinent reception of the philosophical inheritance are consonant with the author's behaviour. In the second one, "Historical - Philosophical Reconstruction of Humanism in Latin American thought", the topic is developed according to a historical - philosophical sequence in the continuity process of ideal humanist and the unalienation process provided by each contribution for the Latin American man.
The importance and significance of this work for the development of philosophical studies and of other social and humanistic sciences in higher education, and for researchers in these scientific disciplines, are endorsed by the headships of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Institute of Philisophy in our country.
