The control of nematodes is one of the most important problems in modern agriculture, and also, one of those which influence the most on the environment preservation, since chemical nematicides are very toxic products.

There were determined in vitro work methodologies that allowed studying 158 biochemical and bacteria stumps, to establish their action mechanisms through chitinase and hydrogen sulfide production in different nematode species. One of the scientific contributions of this work is the identification and determination in the way of action of a new bacterial stump with nematicidal activity, Corynebacterium paurometabolum, with effective action facing high nematode densities, compatible with chemical pesticides and interaction with other microorganisms, being demonstrated their agricultural use. C-924 bionematicide presents a wide potential market for its protection in a high number of cultivations facing different nematode species and its quick disappearance in the soil (<120días). It was also determined the nematicidal activity of Bacillus thurigiensis var. kustaki, stump LBT-3, and its effectiveness for nematode control in bananas and banana trees. The nematicidal control of both stumps has been corroborated in different companies and cultivations. There are presented 14 references from agricultural companies and research institutions. Btk LBT-3 stump is generalized in more than 6,000 ha. of bananas and banana trees, with an annual saving of 300,000 USD.

The results of the work have awarded prizes, have been presented in scientific events and published in 18 articles in scientific magazines: 2 articles and 9 short communications in prestigious magazines and 1 in a prestigious magazine of regional circulation. These results have given rise to two international and two national patents.
