Médico cirujano. Contribuyó al desarrollo de la cirugía experimental y del trasplante de órganos en Cuba. Se dedicó también a los estudios de Cibernética aplicada a la Medicina y gran parte de su esfuerzo lo consagró a la urgente tarea de reformar los hospitales universitarios y al propio Plan de estudios de la Facultad de Medicina.

Summary:

The work shows the results obtained by a group of authors during 20 years of research in this field. It aims at the study of processes associated to the elimination of sulphur, nitrogen and aromatic composites in oil by-products and its negative environmental impact. It deals with the search of more active and selective processes and catalysts for fuel hydrotreatment, particularly for those obtained from heavy crude oils.

The results, significant and novel, in an advanced field of chemical processing industry are related with the knowledge of:

  • Action mechanisms and structure of catalysts,
  • Influence of non-conventional promoters in the hydrotreatment catalysts,
  • Influence of preparation conditions and support effects. The work also dintinguishes by a wide experimental development properly done.
