Presentation of Cuban experiences under the title of "Standardization, rationality,and economy in the structural projection. Four decades of significant contribution ", can be considered an important contribution to knowledge and technical and scientific practice in the field of building, safety, preservation and economy of constructions in Cuba.

During more than 40 years, the author, has achieved an important contribution to the introduction of procedures, regulations and standards in the activity of design and construction of structures of mass concrete reinforced with conventional and pretensed steel and to the advanced methods for structural calculation in the specific conditions of our country.

Among the most important contributions we can mention the following:

• The standards for permanent and wind loads specified for the structural safety of our buildings,
• The use and rationality of reinforcing bars for concrete, with special mention for the introduction of A-40 grade steels, which has allowed a saving of more than 40 000 tons a year, and economic benefits for more than 4.5 millions of Cuban pesos, as well as savings due to the reduction in the consumption of steel and concrete in the construction of floors for industrial facilities,
• The approach of drawing standards and documentation of projects for structural concretes.

All of these valuable contributions have allowed the Standardization Committes for Concrete Structural Calculations (CONCEH), at present presided over by the author of this work, to become institutional authorities. The results of this work have been covered in 34 articles published by outstanding reviews as well as in 9 text books. As a result of this wide research, 9 national and a similar amount of branch standards have been established. Also present in the work many written acknowledgements about the application of these results, with the following among the most important Ministry of Construction (MICONS) and the Group of Investments for Tourism.
