Summary:

DENGUE-caused inffection is an increasing health problem at world scale every year, originating thousands of infections per year and tens of thousands of deads. Despite this, its etiopathogeny is not clear yet . The research´s core was to evidence the increase of IL-10 levels in patients suffering from acute secondary infection and maximum levels of this increase in patients suffering from Hemorrhagic Dengue Fever after 20 years of the primary infection, as well as a supression of IL-12 secretion.

The results of this work have scientific impact, not only in our country, bat also internationaly. It contributes with novel elements as the case of contrasting response memory of specific serotype and crossed serotype T cells to dengue viruses in individuals after 20 years of natural infection, which is considered by us as the most remarkable result.

Results are published in 4 prestigious international journals and presented in several events of high levels.
