Summary:

Superconductivity and ferromagnetism, two outstanding properties of condensed matter, have been historically considered as excluding phenomena, since they lead to an antagonistic order of electron spin. The discovery in 1999 of ruteno-cuprates, which simultaneously have both order types, placed in the foreground the study of the role of magnetic interactions in the supersonductor's establishment.
