Summary:

The work has a high scientific rigor and novel elements such as the realization, for the first time, of a complete inventory of internal Cuban beaches, led to their morphodynamic and sedimentologic characterization. There were also analyzed the cause and magnitude of their erosion processes.

Another new aspect is the mathematical modelling of the equilibrium profile of internal beaches and the comparison of the morphological variability of these beaches’ real profiles, regarding their equilibrium profile.

From the practical point of view, the obtained results lay the foundations for the evaluation, rehabilitation and monitoring of Cuban internal beaches.

This work is very important from the economic, and particularly, from the social point of view, because it deals the problem of recovering the beaches destined, mainly, for population's enjoyment.

It has several publications in national and international magazines. One of the most outstanding is the magazine of Civil Engineering of Spain, of great circulation and prestige among the countries of the European Union and the world. It is endorsed by 13 national and foreign institutions, and it has been presented in many national and international events.
