Agronomic Engineer graduated from the Advanced Institute de Agricultural Sciences of Havana in 1985.

Doctor in Biological Sciences. In December from1999 he defended his dissertation: "Levanasacarasa de Acetobacterdiazotrophicus: biochemical identification and characterizations and genetics".

He holds the position of Head of the Laboratory of Plant-microorganisms interactions, of Plants Division from the Center for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering.

He has mainly worked in the following projects: Metabolism of fructans in Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus and resistance to fungal diseases in plants.
