Malacólogo y zoólogo. Eminente investigador y profesor universitario, discípulo de Felipe Poey. Su extensa obra comprende trabajos de Geología, Paleontología, Zoología, Arqueología e Historia. Su mayor aporte lo realizó en el conocimiento de la fauna fósil cubana.

Young researcher with experimental and theoretical results in the field of superconductivity and the physics of the complex systems. He is acknowledged as Specialist in properties of transportation for polycrystalline superconductors of high critical temperature.

He has published 34 articles in international prestigious magazines, besides 8 in international events.

He has supervised 2 doctorates and 6 master’s degrees.

His results have deserved prizes from the Science Academy of Cuba (ACC) in 1999, 2000 and 2001.

He develops his researches in the Institute of Materials and Reagents (IMRE) and the Faculty of Physics of the University of Havana (UH) Nowadays he is vice-dean of this Faculty.

He has been chosen National Vanguard by the Sciences Union in 1995 and 2001.
